love ♥ pictures workshop

Last Saturday, I was lucky enough to attend a workshop right in the middle of our great state of Wisconsin-Tomah.

Krystal Muellenberg and Dani Stephenson (the Gurus) set up the most amazing models to come and be photographed by the workshop participants.  Shooting them was a blast.  Seriously people, these models are so beautiful.  I was literally green with hair envy for all of these women.  Gorgeous!  I ♥ the naturally curly hair of the first two and the young mom with her long twisty hair...I'm telling you, killer...all of them!
And the men, come on...so sweet. They both prove it's best to just relax in front of the camera, it makes the photos that much sweeter.

When editing these photos, I played around with black & white a lot.  Dani mentioned different black & whites and how it's hard to find one that's just right, which got me thinking so I decided to use a few different ones here and let you tell me what you think.  Which is your favorite? Leave me a comment, telling me which one you like and if you can explain why, please do. I would love your feedback!

Anyway, on to the photos.  This is Dani's sister, Shannon, and she has great hair. (If I had her hair I would introduce myself like that..."Hi, I'm Julie and I have great hair"...similar to an AA introduction without all the coffee and cigarettes.)
She sat for the paparazzi like a champ, and I think she looks amazing.  Very mellow in the first one, kind of playful in the second, and shy & sweet in the last.

I LOVE this couple!  They could not have been any cuter together. These are the perfect people to photograph for a couple shoot, because they are naturally comfortable showing affection to one another.  The contentment shows in the pictures.  It doesn't look staged or fake, it looks like LOVE.
(GREAT hair example #2)

Meet Colton.  He and his adorable parents were a joy to shoot.  I love shooting families who love being a family...do you know what I mean?  People who want photos not just for a holiday card or the annual family photo album, but to document this amazing time in their lives together.  I got that vibe from these guys.  They enjoy being parents to this little guy so much.  They played and sang and laughed, and again the photos show genuine LOVE!

I have to admit the next photos are my favorites of the day.  I LOVE natural and unposed mother & child photos. They make me smile, and cry.  I like to think about the future when Colton looks at photos like these. One day they will remind him how much she loved him & how she enjoyed being HIS mom.
